Tours in Ikaria

Exploration on the Island of Longevity

Ikaria, one of the hidden gems of the Aegean Sea, is famous for its residents’ longevity. The island’s untouched nature, charming villages, and hospitable locals enchant every visitor.

Ikaria’s rugged mountains offer excellent hiking opportunities. One of the most popular trails leads through the Raches Mountains, revealing numerous scenic viewpoints and hidden springs.

As part of a full-day excursion, you can visit Selini Lake, a reservoir lake located in a picturesque canyon. After the hike, taking a refreshing dip in the cool water is a perfect way to relax.

The island boasts a rich historical and cultural heritage. The Therma hot springs, which have been used since ancient times are definitely worth a visit.

The archaeological museums in Agios Kirikos and Kampos, on the northern side of the island, house Ikaria’s ancient treasures.

The Drakano Tower served as the eastern stronghold of the island. Around the fortress, the remains of an ancient settlement are still visible, and the site offers a picturesque view of the islands of Fourni and Samos, as well as the distant Turkish coastline.

But we can’t miss out on mentioning the iconic Theoktistis Monastery, built beneath a massive rock, along with the surrounding houses, which faithfully reflect the way of life of the ancient inhabitants of Ikaria.

The residents of Ikaria are famous for their calm, stress-free lifestyle. Close family bonds and healthy eating habits may contribute to their long lives. The island’s hospitable locals are happy to share stories about their lives, and anyone can easily experience the slow, peaceful rhythm of life.

The Ikaria excursion offers not only relaxation and rejuvenation but also a journey through time and culture.

We organize half- and full-day tours by car for a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 8 people. With prior arrangement, it is possible to customize the tour to meet individual preferences.
